How it works...

This is a short guide to using the Naxos AudioBooks Download Shop. You can now buy audiobooks from us online, download them to your computer, and transfer them to your portable music player. For more information about the downloads themselves, see the Frequently Asked Questions.

Visit the Naxos AudioBooks Download Shop to see the titles currently available for download. Clicking on a title will take you to the product page, where you can find out more about the recording, and purchase it as a download.

You will see a section titled ‘Download in MP3 format’:

Before buying a download, you must read and agree to the terms and conditions. You may also like to read the Frequently Asked Questions, and download a sample title or track to check compatibility with your computer and/or music player.

When you click on the ‘Buy Download’ button, you are taken to the Naxos AudioBooks Download Shop checkout page. Payments are handled by PayPal – a global leader in online payment solutions with 100 million account members worldwide and available in 103 countries and regions around the world.

If you have used PayPal before, or have a PayPal account, you will see a customised checkout page where you can sign in and use your PayPal account to pay for your download. After payment is accepted, you will be automatically redirected to a secure link to your download. The link will also be sent to you in an e-mail from the Download Shop.

If you have not used PayPal before, you will be offered the option to pay with your credit or debit card, or sign up for a PayPal account. If you make frequent purchases from the Download Shop, you may find it convenient to open a PayPal account. PayPal does not charge you to open an account, or to make payments using it.

If you wish to pay by credit or debit card without setting up a PayPal account, you can enter your details and click on the ‘Continue Checkout’ button at the bottom of the page:

You can review your payment on the next page. If applicable, VAT is added here. To confirm your purchase, click on either of the two ‘Pay’ buttons:

You will then be automatically redirected to a page containing a secure link to your download. You can click on it to begin the download, or copy the link if you wish to download your purchase later. Please note that the link will work for seven days after purchase, so please ensure you download your purchase within this time.

You will also receive the link in an e-mail message sent to the address you entered during the purchase. PayPal will also send you an e-mail message with a receipt for your purchase.

When the download has completed, you should usually be able to extract the ZIP archive it is delivered in by double clicking on it. If you cannot extract the ZIP archive, you may need to download a utility such as StuffIt Expander to do so.

You will find a folder containing the MP3 files, an electronic booklet in PDF format, and a license agreement document. You can then import the MP3 files into your music software: for example, in iTunes, you simply drag the folder the music is in into the iTunes window or use the ‘Add to Library’ function. You will then see the full track information and artwork for each track of your download.

You can then use your music software to play your downloads, transfer them onto your portable music player, or burn MP3- or audio-CDs of them.
